Saskatchewan uses over half of its 2026 PNP allocation, i.e., Saskatchewan has issued 2,628 provincial nominations so far in 2026, using about 55% of its available nomination allocation for the year.

According to the latest update published by the SINP, i.e.,  Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, the province received 4,761 nomination spaces for 2026, matching its final allocation from 2025.

Eligible candidates can assess their eligibility for Saskatchewan’s enhanced Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) pathways before applying.

The SINP publishes updated nomination figures every quarter. The latest numbers reflect the province’s immigration activity as of June 30, 2026.

Nominations Issued Across Sector Categories

For 2026, Saskatchewan divided its provincial nomination allocation into three main sector categories:

  • Priority sectors: 2,380
  • Capped sectors: 1,190
  • Other sectors: 1,191

The table below provides a breakdown of the nominations issued to date:

Sector Number Of Allotted Spots Nominations Issued Percentage Of Provincial Allocation Used To Date
Priority sectors 2,380 1,466 62%
Capped sectors 1,190 718 60%
Other sectors 1,191 444 37%

As of June 30, Saskatchewan still had 2,133 nomination spaces available for the remainder of 2026.

Note: Capped sectors are industries where Saskatchewan limits the number of nominations issued each year to better manage labour market demand. For 2026, these sectors include accommodation and food services, retail trade and other services, and trucking.

The table below shows how Saskatchewan distributed its 2026 nomination allocation across different sectors:

Sector Percentage Of 2026 Allocation (By Sector)
Priority sectors 50%
Capped sector: Accommodations and food services 15%
Capped sector: Retail trade and other services 5%
Capped sector: Trucking 5%
Other sectors 25%

Overall, capped sectors account for one-quarter of Saskatchewan’s total nomination allocation for 2026.

The province has identified the following seven industries as priority sectors this year:

  • Healthcare
  • Agriculture
  • Skilled trades
  • Mining
  • Manufacturing
  • Energy
  • Technology

Saskatchewan has also reserved 750 nomination spaces within the priority sector allocation for graduates of Saskatchewan’s designated learning institutions who are working in eligible priority occupations.

The province has also stated that the planned 50% allocation for priority sectors may increase if employer demand continues to grow. If that happens, fewer nomination spaces may be available for other sectors.

A mid-year review will help determine whether adjustments are needed to meet labour market needs.

The “other sectors” category includes industries that are not listed as either priority sectors or capped sectors.

Upcoming Intake Windows

Saskatchewan has also confirmed the next intake dates for employers applying under capped sectors.

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until all available spaces are filled.

The next intake includes separate opening times on July 6 and July 7.

Unlike previous rounds, accommodation and food services have now been divided into two separate intake categories.

Category Date And Time Of Intake Opening Number Of Available Spots
Trucking July 6: 8:30 a.m. 25
Retail trade July 6: 8:30 a.m. 50
Accommodations July 6: 12:30 p.m. 50
Food services July 7 12:30 p.m. 50

To help employers prepare, Saskatchewan will host an information webinar on July 2 at 11 a.m., where officials will explain the upcoming intake process in more detail.

The province has also scheduled two additional intake periods later this year on September 14 and November 2.

Employers hiring workers in capped sectors can only submit applications during these scheduled intake periods. In addition, they may only apply for workers whose work permits have six months or less remaining.

However, employers hiring candidates in priority sectors or other sectors are not restricted to fixed intake dates. Applications under these categories can be submitted throughout the year whenever eligible candidates meet the program requirements.
