Manitoba invites skilled workers in the latest PNP draw, i.e., the province issued 862 invitations to skilled worker candidates through the Skilled Worker stream of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

Invitations were sent under both Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways through an occupation-specific draw and employer-driven selection, supporting the province’s ongoing labour market needs.

MPNP Draw Results

On October 9, 2025, Manitoba held Draw #255, its first draw of the month, inviting a total of 862 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.

Skilled Worker In Manitoba

In this round, 583 LAAs were issued to candidates currently employed in:

  • Healthcare-related occupations within Manitoba
  • Home support workers, caregivers, and related occupations

Eligible profiles were required to be working in Manitoba occupations listed in the broad National Occupation Classification (NOC) group for health occupations, or those that matched the specific NOC description for Home support workers and caregivers, and related roles.

Category Details
NOC code and title 44101 – Home support workers, caregivers, and related occupations
NOC Broad Occupational Category 3 – Health occupations

Skilled Worker Stream

Another 279 LAAs were issued to candidates via the Skilled Worker in Manitoba or Skilled Worker Overseas streams. These candidates had profiles indicating a direct invitation from the MPNP through a strategic recruitment initiative.

The distribution of LAAs by initiative was as follows:

Strategic Recruitment Initiative LAAs Issued
Employer Services 45
Francophone Community 43
Regional Communities 8
Ethnocultural Communities 3
Temporary Public Policy (TPP) 180

For the second consecutive round, the MPNP has prioritized TPP candidates through its skilled worker streams.

The Temporary Public Policy (TPP) allows select provinces to issue open work permits (OWPs) to skilled workers, providing prospective nominees with a faster pathway to employment. Moreover, this initiative is jointly supported by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Government of Manitoba.

Out of the 862 LAAs issued in this draw, 203 were allocated to candidates who submitted a valid Express Entry profile number along with a job seeker validation code.

Why Some Candidates May Not Have Received An Invitation?

As Manitoba invites skilled workers in the latest PNP draw, let’s see why some applicants might not have obtained an invitation.

Even if a candidate meets the draw criteria, some may not have received an LAA due to:

  • Declaring a valid language test but not providing the correct test number, or having expired results.
  • Declaring an MPNP invitation under a strategic initiative but not entering a valid invitation number.

Additionally, candidates working in regulated occupations needed to hold the required Manitoba license. Those invited must show proof of completing all necessary steps for licensing. Not doing so can result in application refusal.

How Manitoba Selects Candidates?

Occupation-specific draws allow Manitoba to target candidates in critical sectors, helping address labour shortages and support workforce needs. Moreover, the province provides a full list of in-demand occupations on the MPNP website.

Strategic recruitment initiatives are employer-led programs that enable the province to collaborate with employers, communities, and cultural organizations to identify overseas candidates with strong settlement potential in Manitoba.

In addition, these candidates typically have skills not widely available locally or possess French language proficiency, making them valuable contributors to Manitoba’s labour force.

This latest draw reflects Manitoba’s continued efforts to strengthen its workforce, attract talent, and support communities across the province through targeted immigration streams.
