Prince Edward Island PNP conducts the latest immigration draw, i.e., the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) held its most recent draw on September 19, inviting foreign nationals to apply for provincial nomination.
This was the ninth draw of 2025, aligning with the province’s trend of holding approximately one draw per month this year.
In this latest round, 129 invitations were issued under the Labour and Express Entry category.
The province focused on candidates employed in priority industries that are essential to economic growth. Special attention was given to international graduates of UPEI, Holland College, and Collège de l’Île, as well as individuals already working with employers in PEI.
Who Is PEI Targeting In 2025?
The PEI PNP continues to emphasize skilled workers in:
- Healthcare
- Trades
- Manufacturing
Other sectors facing significant labour gaps may also be included, although PEI has not provided specific details.
Applicants working in non-priority fields such as general sales or services are not being selected for invitations at this time.
How PEI Selects Its Candidates?
Through its Expression of Interest (EOI) system, PEI ranks applicants according to their potential to contribute to the province’s workforce and economy. Factors include:
- Proficiency in English and/or French
- Educational background
- Relevant work experience
- Connection to labour market needs
- Employment-related elements, such as having a job offer in PEI
Across Canada, nomination allocations for 2025 have been reduced. To adapt, provinces like PEI are concentrating on workers in the most critical sectors to ensure that available nominations are used effectively where labour shortages are greatest.
