The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador issued 205 invitations across two provincial immigration draws held on October 23 and October 29.
Of these invitations, 195 were issued through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP), while 10 went to candidates under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
Invited candidates have 60 days to submit a complete application for provincial nomination through the NLPNP or endorsement through the AIP.
After receiving a nomination or endorsement, successful candidates can apply to the federal government for permanent residence (PR).
Under a temporary federal measure introduced on June 9, 2026, eligible base Provincial Nominee Program applicants living in Canada can apply for a bridging open work permit without first receiving an Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) for their PR application.
Candidates endorsed through the AIP may also qualify for an employer-specific work permit valid for up to two years.

NLPNP candidates received approximately 95% of the invitations issued across the two selection rounds.

How Newfoundland And Labrador Selects Candidates?
Foreign nationals interested in immigrating through the NLPNP or AIP must complete these steps:
- Meet the eligibility requirements of the AIP or a qualifying NLPNP stream
- Create and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile
- Receive an invitation to apply in a provincial selection round
- Submit an application for nomination or endorsement within 60 days of receiving an invitation
- Obtain a provincial nomination or endorsement certificate upon approval
Successful candidates can then apply to the federal government for PR.
The province selects candidates according to its immigration priorities. These include working in health care, finding employment outside major urban centres, and graduating from a post-secondary institution in Newfoundland and Labrador.
