Newfoundland and Labrador issues ITAs in the latest draw. It was the sixth round of provincial immigration invitations for 2025.

This latest draw saw candidates from both the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) receiving invitations to apply for permanent residence.

Draw Summary

In total, 150 invitations were issued by the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) in Newfoundland and Labrador. This included 100 invitations through the NLPNP and 50 under the AIP.

Program Number Of Invitations Issued
NLPNP 100
AIP 50

This is the smallest number of total invitations issued in any round since the province introduced the Expression of Interest (EOI) system for both programs earlier this year.

While the AIP continues to maintain similar numbers to past draws, the drop in NLPNP invitations compared to earlier rounds is notable.

How To Be Considered?

Newfoundland and Labrador issues ITAs in the latest draw. In February, the province replaced its previous first-come-first-served application model with an EOI system.

Now, anyone hoping to immigrate through the NLPNP or AIP must first submit an Expression of Interest to the OIM.

Once submitted, the OIM reviews all EOIs and sends out Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to eligible candidates throughout the year.

Only those who receive an ITA can move forward with a formal application to the NLPNP or an endorsement under the AIP.

To qualify for an ITA, applicants must show that their skills and work experience align with the current labour market needs and priorities of the province.

Key Sectors In High Demand

Newfoundland and Labrador has spotlighted specific industries as high priority. These sectors not only receive faster processing but are also exempt from labour market impact assessments.

As of now, the following sectors are considered priority areas:

  • Health care
  • Information and communications technology
  • Aquaculture

These priority occupations give applicants a stronger chance of being invited to apply through the province’s immigration programs.
