Prince Edward Island holds the biggest immigration draw of 2026, i.e., Prince Edward Island has held its largest provincial immigration draw of the year, inviting 182 candidates to apply for provincial nomination on June 18, 2026.

The invitations were issued to individuals already living and working in the province in occupations and sectors that continue to face labour shortages. The draw reflects the province’s ongoing focus on attracting workers who can support local economic needs.

Draw Details

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) issued invitations through its Labour Impact and PEI Express Entry streams.

The province also continued to prioritize international graduates from the following PEI post-secondary institutions:

  • University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI)
  • Holland College
  • Collège de l’Île

Here’s how the latest draw compares to previous selection rounds:

Draw Date Invitations Issued Immigration Categories Targeted
January 15, 2026 26 Labour Impact and PEI Express Entry
February 19, 2026 109
March 20, 2026 101
April 16, 2026 127
May 21, 2026 113
June 18, 2026 182

The June draw stands out as the largest invitation round held by the province this year.

With the exception of the March 20 draw, all invitation rounds were held according to the province’s planned schedule.

The province has used the same selection approach throughout the year. Priority has consistently gone to candidates working in PEI in occupations and sectors that have a strong impact on the local economy. Graduates from the same three provincial institutions have also continued to receive priority consideration.

Note: The Labour Impact category consists of three streams: Skilled Worker Stream, Critical Worker Stream, and International Graduate Stream.

As of June 18, Prince Edward Island has issued a total of 658 invitations for provincial nomination in 2026.

How Candidates Can Be Considered For Future Draws?

Foreign nationals interested in receiving an invitation from PEI must first create an account through the province’s online system and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).

The PEI Office of Immigration reviews profiles and ranks candidates based on their ability to meet the province’s labour market and economic needs.

Profiles are assessed using several factors, including:

  • Language: English or French language ability
  • Education: The applicant’s educational background, field of study, and location of studies
  • Skills and work experience: Skills & experience linked to priority industries or high-demand occupations
  • Strategic priorities: The degree to which the profile supports PEI’s current labour market goals
  • Employment prospects: Factors such as a valid PEI job offer and/or prior work experience in Canada

Candidates with stronger profiles and higher scores are generally more likely to receive an invitation.

After receiving an invitation, applicants have 30 calendar days to submit a complete application for provincial nomination. This is shorter than the previous 60-day submission period.

Successful applicants receive a provincial nomination from Prince Edward Island. They can then apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for permanent residence.
