British Columbia invites candidates in Skills Immigration draw, i.e., on February 4, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held its first Skills Immigration draw of the year. The province issued 429 invitations to apply (ITAs) in this round.

Invitations were sent to candidates who were seen as having a strong economic impact in British Columbia. This was based on factors such as wage level, job offer details, or overall registration score.

Draw Details

The BC PNP issued invitations to candidates who met one of the following criteria:

Selection Category Criteria Invitations Issued
High-wage job offer stream Job offer in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 with an offered wage of at least $70/hour (≈ $145,000/year) 206
Score-based selection Minimum registration score of 138 points 223

The province also stated that future high economic impact draws may be based on different factors.

In particular, these draws may focus on one or more of the following candidate qualities:

  • Education – level, field of study, and where it was completed
  • Professional designation in British Columbia
  • Language ability
  • Occupation
  • Length and skill level of work experience
  • Wage and/or skill level of the job offer
  • Plans to live, work, and settle in a specific region
  • Strategic priorities, such as labour market needs or government projects and programs.

Skills Immigration Registration Pool

On its official website, the BC PNP shares data on how many candidates are in its Skills Immigration registration pool, grouped by score range. This helps candidates understand how competitive their profile is.

The table below shows the number of registrations by score range in the Skills Immigration pool as of January 6, 2026:

Score Range Number Of Registrations
150+ 9
140–149 67
130–139 791
120–129 1,170
110–119 1,635
100–109 2,161
90–99 2,048
80–89 1,530
70–79 996
60–69 480
0–59 323
Total 11,210

Note that the top three score ranges in the table have not been updated after the February 4 draw.

British Columbia has received 5,254 nomination spaces for 2026. Some of these spaces will be used for candidates who were placed on waitlists from the 2025 intake, as well as for entrepreneur immigration streams.

The large difference between the number of candidates in the pool and the number of available nomination spots suggests that many candidates may not receive an invitation to apply in 2026.
